Vibrant cultural organizations bring life to a community, helping it grow and making it a better place to live. Artists in our midst allow us to see ourselves and our lives with a new perspective. When people choose to listen to music live in concert, to see and hear the artists in person and to feel the excitement of the surrounding audience, the memories can last a lifetime.  

MusicFest Vancouver, with our extraordinary performances of classical, jazz and world music, brings thousands of people to nine popular Vancouver venues where they enjoy the experience of live music every August. Through our concert series around the province of British Columbia, Windsor Plywood Spectacular Music BC, we take our artists to new communities year-round, and through radio and internet broadcasts of many of our concerts on CBC Radio 2 and CBC.ca, we reach out across Canada and beyond.

MusicFest Vancouver…

  • is a summer festival of extraordinary classical, jazz and world music
  • is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2010
  • offers over 40 concerts and free educational events over ten days in August
  • spotlights a special programming theme each year (2010 is the musicians of Australia)
  • features over 400 professional Canadian and international musicians annually
  • draws audiences of 30,000 annually in Vancouver and around the province
  • has an annual budget of $1.7 million
  • enjoys the financial support of over 50 corporate partners annually
  • is supported by all three levels of government and foreign governments
  • since 2000 has presented 337 concerts in Vancouver and 53 concerts in other BC communities through the "Windsor Plywood Spectacular Music BC" program
  • is created and managed by The Vancouver Summer Festival Society, a registered, charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors
